We continue our series in which we pay attention to highly anticipated hotel openings this year. This week, we take a sneak peek at Four Seasons long-awaited new hotel in Napa Valley, which will become their eight hotel in California and the very first to include on-site winery and vineyard.
The new hotel is located in the northern part of the famous wine-growing region of Napa Valley, one and a half-hour drive by car from San Francisco. The hotel is situated next to the charming community of Calistoga and the famous Silverado Trail.
Four Seasons new hotel include 85 rooms, full-service spa, numerous swimming pools, event rooms and even their own vineyard. There will be plenty of food and beverage outlets, including Truss Restaurant & Bar, which with its wide terrace overlooking the beautiful terrain and vineyard is intended to become a hotspot frequently visited by the locals and tourists.
The hotel is designed by Napa Valley’s designer, Erin Martins. The interior has a “farmhouse-chic style”, which in this context means rustic, elegant yet simplistic. The neutral colours are warmed by the beautiful lighting in the rooms, and a great deal of attention is on the details, such as the selection of fabrics with the highest quality for their textiles and custom live-edge wooden headboards. Each room is equipped with its own fireplace and private terrace, where guests can enjoy a glass of wine while watching the sunset.
The hotel is surrounded by hundreds of acres of vineyards. Four Seasons is committed to creating a memorable and immersive experience for guests. Among other things, they collaborate with the world-famous winegrower Thomas Rivers Brown, who has received praise from the wine critic Robert Parker Jr from The Wine Advocate. Thomas Rivers Brown will manage the on-site winery and vineyard.
Guests will have the opportunity to explore first-hand all of the stages in the wine-making process, from grapes to glass. Furthermore, the winery will produce a limited collection of self-grown Cabernet Sauvignon in the future.
Four Seasons Napa Valley is scheduled to open at the end of 2020. However, the company have not announced a specific opening date yet for this highly anticipated hotel.
